Sparring (Read as me getting punched in the head)
Notes:
I’m pretty happy with my PT stuff. It’s good enough for a 90%, which is worse than I’ve ever done but far out of reach of failing…which is good enough for me under the circumstances. I got SOOOOOOOOO winded during sparring. “Put your hands up” punch, punch, punch punch. Me “gasp, gasp, gasp” *the sound of me getting punched in the face is the only thing I’m aware off, other than their not being any oxygen in the world.
One good note is that both coaches said I have really heavy hands. One bad news is that I suck and one coach got pissed at me and hooked me into next tuesday. Good times.
15min of Stretching
Notes:
Not a particularly intersting post, and I sympathize with my legions of fans out there. The only reason I posted that was because I’m fairly proud of myself for actually stretching. It’s not too untypical for people “not” to stretch. Heck, I darn near talked myself out of it but stretch I did. It felt good at that. What do you know? I might even do it tomorrow too!
If you get bored, I put up a review for Knowledge and Nonsense (to your right).

Notes:
The morning workouts are “fun”, but they’re not solid workouts. This was the first evening session that I’ve done, and we stayed busy for the entire time…about 2 hours. They beat me up worse than Jenna’s coochie. No one particularly tried to beat my ass, they just did. It’s an uphill road folks.
OK, so I’m back again. Life is only insane about 95% of the time now. Work is going…we’ve got all of our furnature and things are about what you’d expect. One little interesting factoid I have is that on thursday I’m going to be a “spinning instructor”. You heard it here first folks.
For the record, I hate spinning. I was voluntold to do it and I will and do a fantastic job. In the back of my mind I’m going to be giving the stink eye to all of those surrounding me. The bottom line of fitness for me is that it’s a destination, not a journey. You have to strive to get better…and better…and better. That’s what it is. That’s what it’s for. It’s not fun. It’s typically not easy. You do it because some little demon in the back of your mind will mock you if you don’t.
Now, spinning is what I like to call a recreation fitness activity. You’re not really trying to accomplish anything other than being occupied for 50minutes. You’re not trying to get better at riding a bike that doesn’t move. You’re not trying to lose weight…unless you’re a dumb ass who can’t figure out that it’d be WAY easier to just eat less. You’re not trying to “get in shape”…unless you don’t get that riding a bike to no where is a fairly specific activity that won’t carry over to anything else in the world. You’re entertaining yourself.
You could be using that time to take a walk with your kids. Hell, you could be eating jello on the sofa watching reruns of Buffy. But you decided to go to a class to get all sweaty. All in the name of getting a “good workout”. Not defining what a bad workout is…or what makes this one good outside of being sweaty. The whole damn thing defies logic. It’s evil I tell you.
The air is sweeter and the washing machines are bigger. Life is good.
We made it in pretty late, no major kid meltdowns. Everything is going fairly well so far.
Did my final out today so now I’m all shogun and stuff. The funkenbus is coming in a couple of hours and I have no clue when I’ll be able to log any updates.
If terrorists fuck up my trip, I’m going to be mucho pissedo.
There’s been a serious lack of training…this…month *sigh*. It started when the movers came. Then allergies kicked me in the Jimmy. 2 1/2 weeks of sinus headache, hacking death. Bright news is I found some magic medicine that has helped considerably. Bad news is I’m dreading starting back up because I know it’s going to suck. Weininess is winning in the battle of wills here.
In other news I’m officially out processed of NATO. I picked up my plane tickets today. Monday will be a final out and trip to the airport. Tuesday will be a long, painful, airplane filled day. Good news is my 1st car is ready for pickup. Bad news is that it’s 8 hrs away from where I’ll be. Can’t have complete victory all the time I guess.
